Caro, 36 years old, was born in Holland but other countries and cultures have always had a great attraction for her. Working as a nurse, she decided to study French language and literature and Arabian culture. France is her 'home'. Morocco stole her hart : the sea, the desert and their infinity. 'Being' in other cultures has not only drastically changed Caro's life but has also brought her closer to herself. Above all, her huge interest in the Avantgardisten and Surrealisten has enabled her to see the beauty of all of this with her own viewpoint and to dream away in form and colour. Back in Amsterdam, she let her creativity loose and she started experimenting with colour and form, letting her observations echo in the beauty that is intrinsic to painting, 'I sometimes think that painting is the best thing that ever happened to me'. Caro's world is constantly in motion. Orange is her favourite colour, a colour she associates with warmth and vitality. But in some of her work she has consciously chosen to work with blue and ochre. This as an expression of infinity. Unlike many painters Caro does not work in an studio. The big advantage of that is the cost saving. Also, Caro does not paint to earn a living. That which remains are the costs of materials and the time spent creating a painting. Because of this the price of one of Caro's paintings or drawings is quite low. If you are interested in one of her works please let Caro know by sending an e-mail. Caro always uses Conte or Acrylic on paper. Although she has used other techniques she prefers abstract painting and drawing. The colours are the guide to what she feels comfortable with at any moment.
